KONTRA ROOTS PROMOTIONS
I formed Kontra Roots in 2005 with the intention of promoting the very best roots and acoustic music in the Northamptonshire area. My flagship event is the legendary
Kontra Roots Club, now in its twentieth year, but I also promote acoustic roots concerts and events at numerous other music venues, organizing everything from house concerts to Arts Centre and festival events. See below for basic information but full details of all events are posted on the

KONTRA ROOTS CLUB
Established in 2005 and held on 2nd Fridays of the month, Kontra Roots Club is held at the Working Men's Club in Earls Barton, a village near Wellingborough, our home now for nearly ten years.
A typical Kontra evening will showcase three very varied, outstanding acoustic roots acts from across the region and beyond. The club starts at 8pm and admission is a mere £3. EBWMC is at 1 Queen Street, Earls Barton, NN6 0LN.

COTTAGE CONCERTS
Cottage Concerts began in 2014 as quarterly house concerts but are now held at the Community Centre in the award winning village of Old near Northampton. Featuring a mix of Kontra favourites along with some superb acts who we've been unable to book at other Kontra events, our concerts have proved to be something very special and are enormously popular. Donations for a typical Cottage Concert are around £15 (payable in advance) and include a two course home cooked meal. People are welcome to bring their own alcohol. Food is served at 7.15 and concerts are from 8pm.
THE OLD FORGE
Since 2017 we have organised regular evening concerts at this delightful and very atmospheric small venue in the picturesque village of Cranford, just east of Kettering off the A14. Featuring the cream of UK folk roots, these have been a huge success with near sell-out audiences at every show. Food and drink is available, and audience members are welcome to bring their own drink if they prefer. Concerts start at 7.15 pm and the Old Forge is at Grafton Road, Cranford, NN14 4JE.
