19th November THORNBY HALL CHRISTMAS FAYRE
THE RANTS plus special guests will be entertaining the Christmas crowd at the Buddhist Centre,
Thornby Hall, between 11am and 4pm. Numerous jolly gift stalls, food & attractions.
24th November KONTRA ROOTS CLUB SPECIAL with GRAHAM ROBINS
A concert by one of Kontra's all-time favourites. With a rich, deep voice & a vast, eclectic mix of
roots influences, this lauded & popular performer writes literate & emotive songs that touch the
heart & soul. Accompanied by master guitarist MAX MILLIGAN & support from KEV BUXTON.
8th December KONTRA ROOTS CLUB CHRISTMAS SPECIAL
CORDWAINERS - as always, this terrific barnstorming local folk band plays us into Christmas.
ELIZABETH & JAMESON - award-winning duo with guitar, violin & exquisite harmony vocals.

14th December OLD FORGE with GOVANNEN (£12)
One of the finest Celtic bands in the UK, this barn-storming four-piece not only blend jigs & reels
with traditional & contemporary Irish songs, they also have an excellent Celtic Christmas
repertoire so are the perfect musical treat for the festive season. Wonderful musicians &
enormous fun! Support from accomplished blues/folk duo, KEV 'n' ADAM.
12th January KONTRA ROOTS CLUB
FLASHBACK PHOTOGRAPH - a knockout, foot-tapping folk-rock band with ace songs.
ORPHEAN SPRIG - fabulous new fiddle based instrumental folk band, original & rich in texture.
KEIRON FARROW - great songs, expert punchy guitar & charismatic Tom Waits style vocals.
27th January COTTAGE CONCERT with MAMBO JAMBO (£15)
With their own rhythmic and joyful sound, highly entertaining acoustic duo Mambo Jambo take
their audiences on an exciting and exuberant journey that brings together music from roots, world,
folk & jazz. A fabulous musical treat is in store wherever they roll up, their tour bus packed to the

ROLLO MARKEE - return of this exceptional bluesman & harp player with a big reputation.
PHIL RILEY & NEIL MERCER - top veteran duo with fabulous, rootsy, instantly likeable songs.
DARYL KIRKLAND - brilliant Leicester songwriter. Subtle, classy & a great all-rounder.
17th February OLD FORGE with KATIE SPENCER (£12)
Back by popular demand, this fabulous, rave-reviewed singer-songwriter & stunning guitarist
makes her third appearance at the Old Forge. Rapidly becoming one the UK acoustic scene's very
brightest talents, Katie's exquisite songs are sung with an assurance & maturity well beyond her
